Faith Paradox

  • Living by God’s Revealed Wisdom

    November 5th, 2025

I’ve been researching this topic for several months and praying for God to grace me with a deeper understanding of His will for those of us who are saints in our Lord Jesus Christ. My first intentions were to write inspired words about the Fear of The Lord and the beginning of wisdom. God took me on a short journey and baked some things into my soul that as usual I did not expect. My notes and biblical references for this mind expanding exploration have reached a point where they need to be put into action. I used absolutely no AI assistance in this piece. These words are divinely inspired directly from His Word and as an outgrowth of my own longing for eternity.

As I have stated before, I am writing this blog anonymously out of respect for my personal relationship with my Creator, His Son, and His spirit. I am not writing for clicks, views, and follows. Those are pride and vanity sins that have no place here. God must be praised before all else, including my own personal aspirations. Scripturally speaking, I am doing this in hopes I can reach the hearts of those around the world God has destined these messages for since the beginning of time, whether it’s five hungry hearts or five thousand.

I learn more and more every day that God exists in such a way the human mind simply does not have the capability to even slightly understand or comprehend his timeless universal sovereignty. This fills me with an awe and reverence that is not possible to translate into human language. One of my goals for this writing is for every person it reaches to hopefully gain a better understanding of what the fear of The Lord actually means from an eternal perspective.

When we think of the word fear, we think of being scared or terrified. I think of my career days having to do a presentation or give a speech in front of a group of people, or teeing off on the first tee of a highly competitive golf tournament. I think of nerves and anxiety and an overall dreadful fear of completely losing my faculties and possibly going into shock. I think of being stuck inside an MRI machine during a power failure and not being able to get out. I think of people chasing me with guns and knives and shooting or stabbing me to death. I think of being beheaded for my Christian faith or being crucified for several days on a wooden cross stuck in the ground until I die a slow and agonizing tortured death. We all have those things that we are totally mortified by.

During my most recent journey through The Old Testament, I came across this well known verse:

Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of The Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction”.

Throughout The Psalms and Proverbs alone there are over forty verses about “the fear” of The Lord. I am not going to list all of them here because they’re quite easy to find with modern computer search tools, but obviously this is a theme within scripture that captured my heart and mind in a profound way.

I began to question my own understanding of the concept of Godly fear. My prayer before most of my Bible study is to ask for life changing wisdom from His Word. God most certainly does not disappoint and my gratefulness and thanksgiving have no limits.

My prayer for everyone finding this blog post is for you to feel an inspired curiosity to share it with someone in your life. The goal here is not to debate scripture and give you “my opinion” on what word definitions mean in the context of God’s expectations for those He loves.

In modern society we are surrounded by sin and evil coming at us from every direction. One of the over arcing themes of The Bible is the ever increasing evil in the world as we move toward the end times, and please don’t misunderstand, I am not one of the date setters and trackers. I am commanded not to do it.

We are bombarded on a daily basis with every kind of thing you can possibly imagine that God despises. Things that were considered unacceptable in modern society just ten years ago have now become normalized. The behavior of people online and in public has become nearly intolerable, even among our children. Pornography has found it’s way into the cell phones of small children around the world. Young boys and girls less than ten years old are being treated in therapy for pornography addictions. I could write on for hours about the exponential rise of sin and evil in modern society, and the most horrifying part is it’s becoming acceptable behavior by elected leaders around the globe. Even politics here in the United States has become a daily parade of sin, and the networks proudly report it and discuss it with glee. Internet “influencers” out there who were once decent people have become slaves to clicks and views, and have sacrificed their eternal integrity for a few brief years of popularity in the eye of other flawed human beings. I am seeing it right now with people I used to admire. It’s unfortunate and saddening to watch people being deceived.

Here is what we can do. Develop a deep reverence of awe and gratefulness for the sovereign power of God and ask for a form of enlightenment that becomes a protective shield around you. The fear of The Lord is not what you think. It’s not what I thought. It has taken me several months of prayer, Bible study, conversations with God in the middle of he night, and asking Him to teach me, as I am willing to be a good student. Sometimes these things can take years to percolate supernaturally.

The main thing I had to change in my life to align myself with God to elevate that sense of awe and reverence was learn to develop an absolute hatred and disdain for sin of any kind. This took a fearlessness of being honest with myself about my very own sin problems. Pride, vanity, profanity, idolatry to earthly activities like golf and video games, lies, adulterous thoughts, and on and on. I’m not talking about asking for forgiveness and repenting, that’s a requirement too, I’m talking about hating sin with every fiber of your being, just as God does. This is not something that’s going to happen overnight. This is going to be a process that will take until God takes you home. Our hatred and disdain for sin and evil in this world must increase in proportion to beyond the ever increasing evil. If we are to maintain our awe and reverence of our Creator we cannot sit still in our Faith waiting for Jesus to return. You are all soldiers in God’s army and this is all out spiritual warfare. Please don’t allow yourself to get comfortable in your Faith. I have already made that mistake and God’s discipline for those he loves is right, true, and just. I am grateful for that discipline.

You don’t have to be “afraid” of The Lord. I would be remiss if I did not remind everyone of this verse:

1 John 4:18 – “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love”.

God loves you more than you can ever hope to even begin to comprehend with your human brain. God wants you to align yourself with Him and His Son and His spirit, through love, awe, and reverence. You don’t need to be afraid of anything. The only thing I am afraid of is my own flaws, but God had to make me flawed, otherwise I might actually be like Him.

So what then? Even though we all be believe in one God, one Jesus, and one Holy Spirit, our own individual and personal relationships with Him are all very different and unique. God imparts different kinds of wisdom to different kinds of people that we share with each other. Along with love, this is the basis and foundation of fellowship, and part of the formula of living by and gaining God’s wisdom.

So the fear of the Lord is an awe and reverence for Him obtained through his universal love and aligning ourselves with God’s hatred for sin and evil. It’s pretty simple really. I don’t think God would want living by wisdom to be complicated. I have found the more I immerse myself in God’s word the more generous He is with sharing His wisdom. I used to think I was a reasonably intelligent guy, but lately God is blowing my mind with new insight on old concepts and I give all credit to Him only. I’m only the messenger.

My prayer for all of you is please share these ideas with someone you love. There are a lot of people out there in the world struggling today with the ever increasing evil I mentioned. Have a conversation with someone that could change their life. Have no fear..

  • Be Strong and Courageous

    August 5th, 2025

One of the hard truths of life is we’re never going to improve if the path God has placed us on is not challenging, uncomfortable, difficult, and sometimes just seems downright impossible, and guess what? It’s not just about you. It’s people God brings into your life to encourage and mentor. That may be the most challenging part of all!

It’s so easy these days to be complacent and procrastinate, especially with the instantaneous availability of leisure time and self indulgence through smartphones, the internet, online games, television, and sports. All of these activities, as Solomon so wisely puts it, are like “chasing after the wind”.

You will need encouragement. The easy part is formulating a plan. Dreams and ambitions are an essential part of everyone’s life. Executing those plans is not for the faint of heart. We can strengthen our focus and resolve to get things accomplished through motivation from our Holy Bible.

God’s Word is so preciously filled with the right things to say to us as we move through life. It is indeed the Living Word. How many times have you studied or read passages that take on a completely new meaning, or a verse jumps out and suddenly grabs your heart, even though you’ve read over it hundreds or even thousands times? I’ve had many verses give me that feeling like I just discovered it, but it’s been there all along. This is one of the unique mysteries about my Bible I absolutely love.

The seeds of being an overcomer always seem to be more effective when they are interlaced with our DNA at a young age. The thing God did for me as a small boy was give me an incredibly heightened awareness of good and evil in this world. My spiritual discernment skills were most definitely affected by God’s Word, and all the spiritual gifts I’ve been Blessed with have improved over time. This is a supernatural process and those close to us and the ones we love will notice it as we mature in God’s light.

Here are a few examples in your Bible about encouragement, hope, strength, and reassurance:

Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

John 14:1 – “Do not let your hearts be troubled, You believe in God, believe also in me”

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Psalm 31:24 – “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”

Lamentations 3:22–23 – “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Hebrews 10:23 – “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”

Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 121:1–2 – “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Matthew 11:28–30 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

This is just a small list. God’s Word is full, robust, and complete, not lacking anything. It’s water for a thirsty soul, and food for our minds when we are hungry. It will make us grow strong and healthy spiritually the way God needs you to be. The important part is keeping our nose in those pages and letting His wisdom, knowledge, and insight saturate our being.

Years ago I was asked to teach a class at my church about The Book of Joshua. In my research and preparation I was intrigued by the phrase “Be strong and courageous”, and that became not only the central theme for the class, but it’s stuck to close to my heart through the years. I think of it often. The phrase or closely similar is in The Bible nine times:

Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:7 – Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land…”

Deuteronomy 31:23 – The Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them…”

Joshua 1:6 – “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.”

Joshua 1:7 – “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you…”

Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:18 – “Only be strong and courageous!”
(Said by the people to Joshua.)

1 Chronicles 22:13 – “Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws… Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”

1 Chronicles 28:20 – David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged…”

God personally strengthened and encouraged those he needed to do a good job, and He still does to this day.

My prayer for everyone reading this is you’ll be motivated to share this piece about strength and courage with someone in your life. The purpose of this blog is about planting seeds in the hearts and minds of those God led here. I’m not here for likes, subscribes, and comments. I prefer all feelings of potential pride associated with my writings are completely eliminated. My posts are directly inspired by God’s spirit to reach the people of His choosing. If you are reading this then God is active in your life. I think it’s important you share these themes with someone close to your heart.

In closing I’d just like to remind everyone the “path of least resistance” is filled with people who lived out their lives and never changed. They’re the same person at age 65 as they were at 12. We only get one chance to do what God has planned. It most definitely will change you transfiguratively. Being prepared ahead of time for the challenges of life is the path we want to be on. As already mentioned, keeping God’s Word close to our hearts is by far the best way to navigate the seas of opportunity and challenge.

    Be strong and courageous everyone..

  • Transfigured by God’s Grace

    August 3rd, 2025

Sometimes we experience a new crisis in our lives designed by God to shape and mold us into what He needs us to be. Despite our pride and selfish ambitions, and our desire to partake in the sin of parading wealth and vanity, God has a plan for all people on this Earth whether we realize it or not. The entire planet and all it’s inhabitants are under “common Grace”, which is not to be confused with “saving Grace”. God’s universal kindness is mentioned in The Gospel of Mathew here:

Mathew 5:45 – “That you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

God has powerfully unique ways of getting our attention and causing us to turn or return to Him. He is not going to let go of you, especially if you have accepted Jesus into your life and acknowledged He died on The Cross for all mankind’s flaws and sins. Once you are placed in the sheep pen, God is not going to let you wander off. His faithfulness is unwavering. In The Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy shortly before his martyrdom, Paul explains:

2 Timothy 2:13 – “If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”

As I have mentioned in other posts, I’ve had a tendency to backslide in my walk of Faith regarding one particular weakness. God got my attention one morning driving to a dental appointment. I was day dreaming with the rising sun behind me shining directly into the traffic lights along my route. I narrowly avoided what could have been a serious car accident at a busy intersection after I blew through the light and narrowly missed being slammed by a large truck from my left. I recognized this event for what it was but I continued to indulge in my sin, but I never gave up on my Faith and begged God each night to please help me out of this mess. I had a spiritual and emotional meltdown in my backyard one day and repented of my pet sin again. Jesus himself told me I’m not getting anymore second chances.

This marked over a year of pain and suffering throughout my body that’s been diagnosed as degenerative arthritis or osteoarthritis. It’s everywhere except my elbows and shoulders. I’m convinced this all happened for a reason and I’m actually grateful for it. I was headed down a path of no return and involved in a lifestyle that played on one of my weaknesses. It’s the same weakness all men struggle with, but being single and unmarried did not help.

If there is one grand lesson I’ve learned in this experience, it’s to be grateful and thankful in my life for all God has provided. We take so many things for granted. All the little luxuries and comforts of life God has Blessed us with are rarely mentioned in our prayers. I know it sounds trivial, but I have a new prayer habit of thanking God for everything I can possibly think of. From electricity and clean hot and cold water to toothpaste and dental floss and good neighbors. There are billions of people on this planet who have it a lot worse than I do, and I need to be constantly thanking God for His Grace and favor, in addition to repenting of my sins on a daily basis. Two of the core principles of the Christian lifestyle are prayer and repentance.

In the overall context of the title of this post, God is going to pursue you throughout your entire life. You are always going to be flawed, but at the same time living in God’s Grace. God most definitely has a plan as mentioned here in Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

In keeping with the ongoing theme of this blog, do you have examples of God’s Grace in your life or things you feel you should be more thankful for prior to reading this post? Your testimony is the most powerful series of life experiences God has Blessed you with, to enable others and help transform their lives, and it need not be something that invokes anxiety or timidity in the process. People that are on an uncertain path in life crave the comfort and love of the human heart. Loneliness is a very real challenge for many of them making their way through life. You personally can change the course of someone’s life with a few sentences of encouraging words. In an age where nearly everyone is walking around with their nose in their smartphone, it’s refreshing to share God’s Grace with someone in your life. I will close with this verse from God’s Holy Word:

1 Peter 3:15 – “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

Prayers and Blessing to all until next time..

  • Soaring in God’s Winds

    August 1st, 2025

I once had a pastor tell me the most spiritual people he’s known throughout his life are the ones who are the most acutely aware of their sins. These spiritual ambassadors of God’s Word never took the path of least resistance along the way, but flew against the headwind of the most challenging, uncomfortable, difficult, and impossible things you can imagine. As I write this post I am reminded The Lord Jesus Christ immersed himself among sinners:

Mark 2:17 – “On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

We are never going to improve in our walk of Faith by looking for the easy things to do. There is something about those Christians who were saved after a particularly rough life that sets them apart. I think my pastor made an astute observation and this has been my experience as well. I have met people from all walks of life with the most powerful testimonies you can imagine, all drawn from life experiences that pushed the envelope. By the same token, these same people have a much higher potential to backslide. I am a living example of such spiritual warfare. One of the keys to overcoming spiritual challenges is keeping our nose in God’s word and persevering no matter how difficult the new test may be. It is vitally important we not grow weary and lose heart as mentioned here in Hebrews:

Hebrews 12:1-3 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

A prepared soldier in front line spiritual warfare is about his business and mindful of the snares and traps of daily life. He’s learned to weaken his weaknesses and strengthen his strengths. He knows this requires a higher level of thought and a deeper level of consciousness obtained through prayer, meditation, and God’s Word. He knows he is still a flawed human, but has the ability to self analyze. He is critically aware of spiritual attacks and recognizes them by their lack of fruitfulness. He is humbly grateful for his faith being tested and being a true overcomer:

Isaiah 38:15 – “But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.”

The experience of living a life guided by Faith and divine power is a gift from God designed to shape and mold you into what God needs you to be, to be like Jesus. The bar is set high. We are never going to wake up one morning and say, “OK I finally completed the Christian lifestyle, what’s next?”. You can spend years or evening decades climbing the highest mountain God has placed directly in front of you, only to arrive at the summit and see the next mountain off in the distance is twice as high. Do not let your heart be troubled. Those of us who aspire to be like Jesus know we are to expect a life of both suffering and immense joy:

Peter 2:21 – “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.”

Philippians 1:29 – “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him.”

Romans 8:17 – “And if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

2 Timothy 3:12 – “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”

Matthew 16:24 – “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

John 15:20 – “Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master! If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.”

One of the things about God that took many years to get through to my heart and soul is God’s will is more important than my prayer requests. God’s favor and grace were extended to me as a precious gift through Jesus Christ, and I learned I needed to be more grateful and thankful not just for my salvation, but for everything in my life God has provided. God is in control of my life for his benefit, not mine. This Psalm is a powerful reminder God both builds us up and shepherds us:

Psalm 23:3 – “He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.”

I think it’s extremely beneficial for us to have the ability to step out of our skin for a few moments and walk forward and look back at ourselves. Learning to develop an honest interpretation of how we are perceived by others requires not only fearlessness, but surrendering and submitting to God during the process. God knows your secrets. We cannot be effective warriors in Christ having a potential sin problem in our lives.

Two of my weaknesses are idle chatter (gossip), and having an opinion about something I have no knowledge of (judging). It’s critically important that we continually sharpen our ability to self analyze, because I promise you none of us are perfect and we all have something going on that needs to addressed. It’s just part of God’s continuous improvement plan.

The peace and serenity gained by the knowledge of truth about yourself will truly set you free, and enable you to be more effective in your walk of Faith. God desires we go quietly about our business, not seeking a place of prominence or falling into the trap of works righteousness. I know all about both of these first hand. That’s one of the reasons I started this blog.

The pains of inspiration are real. I’m still not sure seeking a place of spiritual refuge is something God wants me to do, but I’m going to continue my blogposts with the theme of sharing the seeds of the crop God has grown from my spirit. I don’t take any credit for anything I write here. This is all inspirational writing. Much prayer and having conversations with God about what he wants to share is not something I can turn on or off at will. I give God the full honor for all he does in my life, and I’m grateful and thankful more than I can put into words.

And I will continue to soar into God’s headwinds and trust where he is taking me..

  • Groans of Hope from God’s Creations

    July 31st, 2025

The Bible encourages respect, care, and compassion toward animals and the earth. Treating plants and animals well is seen as righteous, wise, and in line with God’s original intent for humanity as stewards of creation. While it doesn’t always specify earthly rewards, it clearly aligns such behavior with godly character. Today we’ll discuss the relevant scripture and hopefully stir something in your being to have a strong desire to share with people in your world.

I’ve always believed since I was a young man you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals. We see evidence in very young children and even infants displaying immense joy from being around God’s creations. I distinctly remember every pet our family ever had, and I always felt terrible about them being kept in a kennel where their freedom was limited. Whenever one of those pets was suffering or not doing well, it affected our entire family, because they were part of our family. Part of God’s family.

The Earth and all its creatures belong to God. His covenant includes animals, and compassion toward them is a prerequisite in Scripture. There are laws and proverbs in the Bible that show God’s concern for animals and commend kindness:

Proverbs 12:10 – “The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” This verse directly praises those who treat animals with compassion and calls it a mark of righteousness.

Deuteronomy 25:4 – “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” A law ensuring animals are treated fairly even while they work.

Exodus 23:12 – “Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest…” Even animals are to enjoy rest, showing that God values their well-being.

Psalm 24:1 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” This reminds us that humans are caretakers, not owners.

Psalm 104 – This psalm celebrates how God provides for animals, plants, and all living things.

Genesis 9:9–10 – “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you…” After the flood, God’s covenant includes not just humans, but “every living creature.”

Genesis 1:22 – “God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” Animals have had God’s Blessing since the moment of creation.

I am in awe of every individual instance of God’s created life forms. Every insect, every worm, all living things are once in eternity creations. Each and every one unique and different. This fact always gets my reverent attention and respect. I’m one of those crazy people who’ll spend hours tracking down a bug in my home only to release it outdoors.

But there is more to this story. All of us, including soil, plants, and animals are under the curse of the earth that resulted from The Fall in Genesis 3, and now the entire creation groans in anticipation of the return of a peaceful earth.

The Apostle Paul follows up on this in Romans and confirms the innate groaning which is the hope we have for what we know is going to happen. The entire earthly ecosphere and its inhabitants are part of this process:

Romans 8:18-23 – “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.”

Fortunately for us humans, God has Blessed us with a coping mechanism so that we’re unable to let go of or lose this hope. Paul writes in 2 Timothy about the resolve of the human spirit:

2 Timothy 1:7 – “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

But this does not mean we are perfect of course. We are still flawed people swimming upstream toward our prize and sometimes we need help. Enter The Holy Spirit, your helper. There are times when we even struggle about what we should pray for, or if we can even pray at all, and the Holy Spirit groans for us:

Romans 8:26-27–  “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”

Meanwhile the entire creation continues to groan as in the pains of childbirth. Perhaps our compassion for animals is somewhat rooted, albeit unknowingly, in this perfect plan God has so wonderfully scripted out, It tells a magnificent story about our journey, including animals, that is worthy of sharing, and that is my prayer for you the reader and those of you who treat animals with heartfelt empathy and compassion.

We all have family, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who have animals in their lives and have an interest in the well-being of nature. These are the people we can stimulate to share this message.

    Have a Blessed day everyone..

  • Divine Impulses and Children of Light

    July 30th, 2025

I think we all have that one very personal thing about are our relationship with The Creator of the universe, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit infused into the DNA of our hearts, that we don’t talk too much about with others. It’s almost like no one would really believe us anyway, so why make fools of ourselves discussing it. I think God solidifies His personal relationship with us by divine inspiration and by showing His presence in our lives through what would be called pure coincidence in the secular world. I don’t believe anything about my Faith is coincidence. It’s happened more times than I can count and I get overwhelmed spiritually when it does. I am going to share one example of many with you in hopes you can share some of your own experiences with others as a form of “pay it forward” impulse, then you’ll see how I arrived on today’s topic, “Children of Light”.

I completed a different blogpost yesterday under a different title, but I still felt the presence of God pushing me a little bit to keep going. So I stepped out on my back porch and had a little prayer humbly asking for guidance and direction. I’m standing there gazing out over my backyard with my eyes fixated off in the distance as I contemplated options when I noticed the string of decorative lights my next door neighbor had hung across the top of his fence line a few days ago. They look really cool at night and I was thinking of doing the same thing myself when God dropped a seed in my heart related to the word “light”. I thought yes indeed that’s exactly it! So I queried a search engine and found the word “light” is in the Bible over four hundred times throughout the different translations. I knew I now had my inspiration, directly from God, for my next topic.

I got distracted and made a trip to the corner store for a few things and when I returned I went to the back porch again and checked my verse of the day on my phone. I kid you not here is what it said:

John 8:12 – Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

I was immediately overwhelmed with the Spirit of God for a few minutes before I could settle down and think straight. These spiritual coincidences are commonplace in my walk of Faith and I absolutely love when God chooses to communicate with me in this manner. I’ve never really felt compelled to discuss them because I feel like it’s a personal touch God chooses to add to our relationship, but since I am on here anonymously, I felt like sharing at least one experience that may help impact and transform other peoples lives in some way. These direct messages from God spur these Divine impulses I have in my life and I get completely and totally laser focused on the service required to move the related task forward. There is nothing in my earthly life of the flesh that brings me as much pure joy. I can always feel the presence of God’s love too and it’s awesome!

What shall we say then? Ephesians 5:8, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in The Lord, live as children of light.” In my research of this topic, I found it to be extremely popular and thus easy to plagiarize the thoughts of others to pass along, which is OK, but I feel it necessary to write exactly what God has put on my heart for you to contemplate and share with people in the place where God has you stationed for service. This is something God has directly asked me to do and I take zero credit nor do I have any need for prideful recognition. There are no words in the English language to express my immense gratitude and thankfulness to Him for placing his hand on me.

God’s chosen people have a distinct childlike aura about them that’s unmistakable and truly recognizable, both saved and unsaved. I have been talking to a young woman who works in the restaurant at my golf club. Her name is Hope, which is fitting for this conversation. Some of the ladies and myself have been having conversations with her about Jesus and praying with her. I recognized her aura immediately when we first met on a Sunday afternoon when I dropped in for lunch. This was many months ago. I’ve helped her with a Bible study plan starting in Mathew and I’m confident she’s on the right path.

Children of light have an innate quality that comes directly from union with God. There’s an innocence and purity about us that is indeed very childlike, even though most of us are grown human adults, but in the scope of eternity we are most definitely like bright eyed, giggling, and joyful infants. It makes me smile just thinking about it. This is the kind of love God pours out on us by His good will and grace.

Our service task out of God’s playbook is to mentor and council each other and build up the body of Christ. One of the very best things about our aura of light is we organically set a quality example for others. 1 Peter 5:2-3, “2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. “

The goal of this post is to plant seeds in your heart where you feel divinely inspired to have conversations with people who not only have God’s aura of light about them, but more importantly those who are in a fertile place in life to be uplifted by God’s spirit and redeemed by Jesus Christ. My prayer for everyone who reads this is for you to gain Divine confidence in an unprideful way to overcome any timidness in your being about discussing this with as many people as God puts on your heart.

Have a Blessed day, we’ll talk again soon.

  • The Time and Eternity Paradox

    July 29th, 2025

Our Father in Heaven willed our universe into existence, along with this version of time he engineered for it. God decided everything where we exist should have a beginning and an end. This blueprint allows for the human brain to exist perfectly within it. The infinite and eternal nature of God is something that humans have contemplated ever since He gave Adam and Eve a fully developed conscience and divinely influenced human authors to publish The Holy Bible, which is filled with thought provoking wisdom about time and eternity.

I know that God transcends time. If this were not true you would not have human history filled with Bible prophecy that played itself out exactly as it was predicted by the Old Testament Prophets. The fact that God has a plan already in place with His Believers along for the ride is a mind blowing thing to contemplate, and cements the vivid Hope we have in our hearts for a future that’s stunning to think about. Can you imagine existing in time with a Creator who’s given us no knowledge of his future plans and just expects us believe in Him just because he says so? I can see now why God created time the way he did, and I’m grateful for it. As limited as my human intelligence is compared to God, I love the sense of wonder He’s placed inside of us to have these kinds of conversations.

My goal for this blogpost is for you the reader to hopefully feel inspired to have a conversation with someone in your area of influence about our eternal and omniscient God Almighty, His Son Jesus Christ, and His Holy Spirit. In fact the overarching theme of this entire blog is to encourage the sharing of Biblical wisdom with others and do what we can along the way to change the hearts of humanity. My goal is not to discuss the “what ifs” of academia science about time and space, but to share Scripture with you about said topics from God’s Word, and invoke a sense of excitement about how we can impact and transform people’s lives, and make it easier for us to us have conversations.

The Holy Bible is a book of prophecy in it’s essence. The huge volume of verses related to time, eternity, and prophecy is staggering, but completely necessary. The modern era secular narrative defines these as fairy tales, ancient lore, fictional writing, you name it. The fact it’s written this way is testament to it’s authenticity. In another post I wrote about how people will devote their entire lives dedicated to denying a God they believe does not exist.

Before we delve off into the relevant scripture, it’s important that we reach for an eternal view about the reality of time. In the scope of an infinite eternity, we should understand our brief existence of a human lifetime in the flesh is a mere speck on the cosmic timeline. James 4:14, “You are a mist that appears for a little while, then vanishes.” A critically important verse to help put things in perspective.

God gives us some amazing clues about the significance of time and how it relates to human behavior here on Earth. Peter places emphasis on this fact in 2 Peter 3: 8-9, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With The Lord a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day..”, and again in verse 12, “as you look forward to the day of God and speed it’s coming”, which is an interesting view on the passage of time based on living a holy and godly life. I find this absolutely fascinating. This is something I think any Believer would be excited to contemplate and share with others. We’ve all experienced the ups and downs of life. When things are not going well time seems to slow down and you feel stuck. When we are spiritually well there’s not enough hours in the day to do all we want to do. This is a very real phenomenon, and God’s word applies perfectly to it.

Time is such an essential part of our being, eternity is literally hard coded into our DNA according to His Word in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He has also set eternity in the human heart”. This makes me very concerned for people of this Earth who are not Believers and those worshipping false gods. I can’t imagine going through life believing everything just goes dark at death and that’s the end. That is so contrary to what God has infused into our very being. It probably also explains why true happiness can never be achieved by pursuing wealth and material items.

The Apostle Paul’s writings throughout the New Testament are rich in exploring the underpinnings of God’s Word relative to time and eternity, and reflect a strong temporal awareness on his behalf, directly inspired by The Creator of the universe himself. Paul emphasizes the urgency of the present cast in a vivid hope of the future. The fiery zeal with which Paul communicates is perhaps some of the most inspirational writing in human history. There is absolutely no doubt where it comes from. Paul expresses this urgency perfectly with 2 Corinthians 6:2, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation”. Not next week or next year but NOW! Paul’s exhortation is extremely passionate. Interestingly, Paul viewed time as an era or age, and not a chronological ecosystem. This is a wonderful gift in God’s word to share with people in your own personal ministry. This is just one example of how we can be students of Paul’s ministry and use the topic of time and eternity as a foundation to help put things in perspective for people with a new or hesitant interest in The Living Word.

The Old Testament is a massive treasure chest of Bible prophecy, literally predicting the future, and it always unfolds exactly as described. This confirmation cements the hope we have in our hearts about the future thousand year millennial reign of Jesus here on this Earth. It’s going to be such a mind blowing and exciting era of history to actually be taught by Jesus himself. Just imagine the wisdom, knowledge, and insight to be gained as His students. This is probably the most exciting part of the time and eternity concept you can share with others.

My goal going forward, as always, is to share topics with you that are easily relatable to the masses, both Believers and unbelievers alike. The key is to enable people with our Faith, not disable them. I think in many cases the way modern Christianity comes across sometimes through the various media conduits is not something that makes the average secular person feel good about themselves. Let’s all work together in love to make a difference and change that.

  • The Renewing of your Mind

    June 21st, 2023

My Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ, we are immersed in a world filled with evil everywhere we turn. It’s on television, radio, social media, in public settings, in traffic, professional sports, our schools, and politics. The ever increasing evil in our world today is normalizing the most evil of behaviors in human beings. We absolutely must make every effort to insulate ourselves, our families, our church members, and every person in our sphere of influence.

We must replace a prideful and selfish interest in worldly things with The Word of God in our lives. If this means giving up leisurely self-indulgent activities then so be it. The mind of the flesh is hostile to God. The mind governed by The Spirit is life, peace, and truth.

This is a full time 24/7 diligent effort accompanied by prayer, Bible study, and meditation. Any self-inflicted damage to your Holy armor creates a situation where you become more vulnerable. I have just suffered through several of these in the last couple of days. It culminated this morning with me having an outburst of anger at my poor cat because of him biting my bare ankles, on top of a brief illness related to a bad reaction to anti-inflammatory medication for planter fasciitis, and communication from an old girlfriend that I don’t need to be involved with.

I didn’t handle these situations well at all. Over the last week my morning prayer, Bible study, and devotion have not been Spirit filled and on point. I have learned this lesson many times. In addition to my lack of passion for God’s word lately, and the fact I’ve recognized it for what it is, I had been praying for an army of protective angels to defend me from attacks.

In one of my previous posts I wrote about frontline spiritual warfare. This is an excellent example of a skirmish I apparently lost in the larger scope of the battle. I should have realized from past experience the more effective I am in my personal ministry, the more frequently and viciously I am going to be attacked. Apparently I am not yet spiritually mature enough to take joy in my sufferings for Jesus. This is something I battle constantly. At times I am weary and frustrated. Sometimes the spiritual energy is just not there for me to persevere like I should, particularly when I am not physically well.

That being said, I am looking at this as an opportunity for spiritual growth and enlightenment. Despite my flaws, I don’t ever give up. I had a heartfelt conversation with God this morning about my weariness and battle fatigue. I literally just walked in from my back porch after passionately expressing my human feelings and emotions in prayer. There was no Peace of Mind in that prayer. Today is going to be a day of reflection and hope. I love how God always has incredible ways to keep us focused on Him. Which even further solidifies my point about us insulating ourselves from the world.

We still have to exist here on this planet, but most importantly we should reinforce the idea on a daily basis that this is not our home, and we should not have an interest in it as such. The renewing of our minds is not going to be a forward progressing process is if we continue to maintain interests in our lives that have priority over our Faith. I’m not going to make a list, but news and social media, politics, and sports are three of the worst. I know a lot of Believers are fully invested in these interests. We can try to justify it any way we want, but the evil and deception oozing from these sources is horrendous, particularly with most of the companies advertising through these outlets having anti-God agendas that are not in your best interests. It’s no different than watching pornography. Now it’s news pornography, social media pornography, political pornography, and sports pornography.

Yes of course we have to keep up with what’s going on in the world so we can react and pray, but we have choices where we can receive this information without being caught up in the world to our spiritual detriment. Be extremely careful what you expose yourself to.

In closing, my prayer for everyone who reads this post is somehow seeds of sharing can be planted in your hearts and you are spiritually inspired to be warning beacons in a dark and ugly world. Share this with someone you love and let’s all make a Godly effort to protect our precious spiritual purity, given to us by the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross.

Blessings everyone, God loves you more than you can ever possibly comprehend..

  • All Out Frontline Spiritual Warfare

    June 19th, 2023

Before I get into the meat of the topic I’d like to point out I’m not giving credit to the evil one and his minions by writing this post. In fact, I’m actually exposing him for the fraud and liar he is. I’ve had a few people rebuke me for having conversations aloud about detailed specifics related to spiritual attacks. In my mind these things need to be discussed. I view them as battle plans.

I did not get saved until late in life. At age 53 God backed me into a corner after a double hernia operation. On the night of December 7, 2013, he came into my bedroom and I fell to the floor and surrendered. It was a literal transfiguration. It changed my appearance and my speech. People noticed it and asked about it. Especially my family. My Mom was particularly fascinated by the process. I know what happened to me. My salvation was genuine. I was baptized on December 29 of that year in front of three thousand people as a public profession of my Faith. My full testimony is rather lengthy and I will write about it more in a future post.

The last ten years has not been easy. My past was filled with every kind of sin you can possibly think up. Sex addiction, alcoholism and drug use, crime, pathological lying, prideful perfectionism, anger issues, anxiety and depression, and pretty much anything else sin related. I have had some struggles with a few things since being saved. I am not perfect by any stretch.

It’s my observation at my church that people who get saved later in life are usually more vulnerable to demonic attacks. A lifetime of sinful thought and action doesn’t just disappear from your memory. No amount of prayer and Bible study is going to make those memories completely vanish. They are always there right under the surface. The potential for stumbling and backsliding is more evident for people who found Jesus after a long life of sin. Children and young adults who were saved at an early age do not have this huge memory bank full of unwanted thoughts. The lifelong saved sinner has literally been prepared to recognize these attacks for what they are. The battle against it requires a firm foundation based in fellowship with fellow warriors. It cannot be fought alone and it is not for the faint of heart. Fighting spiritual battles for The Lord as a soldier in His army is honorable and righteous in His eyes.

My pastor once said the most spiritual people he has known throughout his career are the ones who are the most acutely aware of their sins. These people are your frontline troops in the battles of spiritual warfare. If you know someone saved by God after a life filled with sin, please pray for these people and build them up and support them. They are not immune to losing some battles.

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 6:8-10 “8 by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true; 9 as unknown and yet well known, as dying and yet behold, we are alive; as punished and yet not put to death, 10 as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things”.

An effective frontline warrior will continue to sustain attacks as he becomes more successful. These attacks will come in the form of their weaknesses being targeted. If you are one of these warriors you know exactly what I am talking about. satan knows the magnitude of the sin you were saved from by the precious blood of Jesus on The Cross. He knows you have not forgotten it. This is particularly true in the area of deeds of the flesh and especially physical addictions. Addicts relapse all the time. Even saved Christians.

So how do we win these battles and become an overcomer on the spiritual battlefield? As previously mentioned you must have a strong support group of Believers. You cannot fight this battle alone or you will lose. I am speaking from experience. If possible you need to have an accountability partner, mentor, or counselor and you need to see them as often as possible. Do your best to talk to your accountability partner on a daily basis. If you don’t have one get one. Have people in your class or congregation place hands on you and pray. You have your holy armor and weapons. A well prepared and equipped warrior is near invincible.

A wonderful byproduct of victorious frontline warfare is that your testimony becomes a powerful tool in your life. Victories solidify your personal relationship with God and Jesus and Graces you with a peaceful and serene confidence. Peace and Truth are two of your most powerful weapons.

Ask God to continuously surround you with armies and legions of protective angels. You are always going to need them. They are there for the asking.

Finally, no matter how bad you think you’ve messed up, no matter how far you’ve backslid, no matter how tough it gets, just remember God loves you more than you could possibly ever comprehend with your human brain or feel with your heart.

My prayer for everyone is whoever reads this can share with a Believer in your life who is struggling. Many frontline warriors doing the heavy lifting don’t even realize they are cast in that role. Build them up, refresh them, and above all love on them like they are a newborn child.

Blessings everyone, Peace and Truth to you in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  • The Revenge Paradox

    June 18th, 2023

We all come out of the womb at birth as sinners. As babies and small children we all have an innate propensity to get in trouble every minute. It’s the anti-spiritual effect of a cursed Earth, thanks to Adam and Eve handing over to the title deed of the planet to satan. As we grow into toddlers we want what other kids have and we want the things we cannot have. As we grow older this morphs into jealousy and coveting, and deep down inside of us our survival instinct kicks in and we even frame people we don’t even know as the enemy. And oh how we love to gossip about it and do mental gymnastics to justify it. It even finds a way into competitive sports and especially those involving teams we are a big fan of. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I know people who literally hate other teams opposed to the Dallas Cowboys. It even permeates the lives of Christian Believers. None of us are exempt.

Galatians 5:19-21 details the deeds of the flesh: “Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these”..

I have a situation in my own life that I am struggling with. When I retired three years ago we had just terminated one third of our employees as a preemptive strike to the possible effects on our business from the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. We literally did not have enough people left to run the business. As a regional vice president, this came to bear directly on my shoulders. With the no overtime and hiring freeze policies implemented, everything came to a screeching halt.

Months earlier an executive management change was made and our VP of Finance became my direct manager. I was in operations. This gentleman had no operations experience and he and I had a personality conflict from the start. Our daily zoom meetings did not go well after the mass termination and quite frankly I’d just had enough of it and I retired (quit).

As a Believer I had a lot of trouble handling this situation in my heart. As much as I prayed for him and myself I just could not let go of it. I even went to a Christian counselor for guidance on that and a few other things. As time went by I was eventually able to let go of it. However..

The gentleman that previously owned the company I retired from has started a new company. The new company is in direct competition to the old company. I keep in touch with a lot of people at my old company and apparently moral is low and everything is an organizational mess. The new company contacted me last year to do some light consulting work on computer programs and procedures. I felt like I was doing it for the wrong reasons. It’s gets even worse..

The new company contacted me last month and asked me to contact a commercial real estate agent and find a distribution center for their Dallas expansion. They are based out of Los Angeles as was my old company. Many of the old employees are now working at the new company, including the man who was my direct manager in operations since 1993. He and I have known each other since 1978. He is my direct contact. He is also a Believer. Despite this, some of our conversations are highly critical of management at our previous employer. Some part of me tries to justify it because it’s business. I expect a permanent job offer once we locate a building.

As we approach that time when the job offer becomes a reality, we are going to recruit the management team and key personnel from our competitors Dallas operation. These people worked for me for many years. I trained and mentored them. The vast majority of them are Believers. I had dinner with them last week with an old friend of mine from Denver is who is now their manager. The old friend is a preacher and marriage counselor and a strong Believer. Obviously we did not discuss the new company. I did not utter a word about it.

I’m at a point in my retirement where I need to go back to work, despite many health issues including planter fasciitis and prostate cancer. I’m incurring extra expense related to my Mom’s estate, including remodeling her home for resale. None of these extra expenses were forecast in my retirement budget.

Even though this is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new business and reestablish old customer connections and the like, something deep down inside of me is whispering this is not right. I literally feel like I’m doing it for revenge. I keep praying about it and asking God and Jesus for wisdom, but so far I’m kind of stuck. The deafening silence from God is probably my answer.

If anyone out there is a front line prayer warrior, please add me to your list. I would be forever grateful and thankful. I will ask God to watch over those who pray for me and I will pray for you as well.

Peace and Truth to you in The Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..
